I went to the library for a very cool program. I used an arduino-powered mBot and the program mBlock, which is a drag-and-drop way to code.
You can use endless combinations of blocks to program your robot. You can even customize the light color.
We ended up buying an mBot at the Maker Faire. You assemble the robot yourself and get to see the different parts. You can download an app on your Bluetooth-enabled phone or tablet. With the app, you can drive your mBot by remote control or program it with mBlock. There are modules, too, for slightly older kids.
The robot is easy to build and program and there are a lot of fun features to get young makers interested in robotics and coding.
